Who we are:

MSU TV-11 is the student cable operation at Murray State University in Western Kentucky. We air local programming Monday through Thursday during the fall and spring semesters, and all programs are developed and produced by MSU students.

Our Mission:

MSU TV-11 serves as an external relations arm of the University and the facilities are also used to teach courses in broadcast production.  It provides a unique opportunity for a considerable amount of hands-on experience.

Students who work with MSU TV-11 can gain experience as program producers, directors, reporters, writers, camera operators, audio operators, editors and the like.

Our Goals:

The faculty and staff work to create a laboratory that ensures that students graduate with the ability to:

  • Engage in mature, independent thought and express those thoughts effectively using audio-video technology.
  • Analyze television programming and break it down into basic elements.
  • Function independently and as a member of a production crew.
  • Manage/Direct human resources.
  • Demonstrate mastery of skills and methodology associated with video and television production.
